Getting back into work through Roe Valley education Forum’s ESF More Flexible Steps

Funded by the European Social Fund through the Department for Employment and Learning, our ‘More Flexible Steps’ employability initiative provides men and women access to FREE flexible training and work placements. Similar to the Government’s Steps to Work initiative, More Flexible Steps offers ‘clients’ opportunities to achieve qualifications currently not available through Steps to Work. These include NVQ Level 3 in a variety of subject areas including Hair & Beauty, Childcare, CSR and Security courses.

Roe Valley Community Education Forum can also offer additional support for those on More Flexible Steps, including assistance with childcare costs and enhanced mentoring. A variety of workshops can also be accessed and are designed to elevate self-esteem and improve confidence - making you more employable.

Courses are usually delivered during an academic year and as places are limited, we would strongly advise you to contact our More Flexible Steps Co-ordinators well in advance of the Easter deadline.

Am I eligible to join More Flexible Steps?
If you fall into the following criteria you are eligible for More Flexible Steps.
• You must be over 18 years old (or a loan parent aged 16 years or over)
• Not working (or working less than 16 hours each week)
• Claiming benefits, or not working and not claiming benefits
• Ideally you would need to hold a NVQ Level 2 qualification before being considered to complete
Level 3 – our More Flexible Steps Co-ordinators can advise you in greater detail what requirements
are needed to fulfil course criteria

I’m interested, but I would like further information?
At Roe Valley Community Education Forum our door is always open, so feel free to call into our Roemill Road offices for an informal chat with our More Flexible Steps Co-ordinators - they’re always available to provide realistic and valuable information on the best route into work. Alternatively, you can telephone 777 69469 during normal office hours or email here.

Learning with them has been great.
